We guarantee that no-one’s going to have a better time on this trip than your children. Your only challenge will be how to fit it all in. If they’re not tired enough from ski school, check out the magnificent pool, climbing wall, sledding hill and ice rink at the Aspen Recreation Center.
Look at our events calendars to see what’s going on in town during your stay. There are always free concerts, children’s theatre, music performances, reading and other sessions at the Pitkin County Library.
Sometimes the simplest things are the best. Do as the locals do in summer and hang out in our lovely parks — there are swings and climbing frames at the Yellow Brick Park, or take them to paddle in the river at the Herron Park ‘beach’. Why not rent bikes and cruise about town or the Rio Grand Trail? Pack lunch and have a hike — memories you make exploring Hunter Creek or the North Star Preserve in the sunshine will last forever.
Kids can become instant Aspenites at ACES, the Aspen Center for Environmental Education, the Aspen Center for Environmental Education. All our young people benefit from the programs at this gorgeous haven in the heart of Aspen where kids can follow trails, meet a real live Golden Eagle and learn about our environment with the help of enthusiastic young educators.
If you want more organized activities, there’s a plethora of wonderful day camps organized for kids of all ages. Whatever your children are into, they’ll find it here, from skateboarding to photography, mountain adventuring to art, theatre and writing. We’ve even seen a camp this summer teaching kids the art of theatrical fighting! Make sure to get in touch with us in plenty of time before your trip and we can help you find your kids what they need.
And of course we’ll help you fix up babysitting for those times when you and your kids need a bit of time apart.
