The Lift One Condominiums are just a short four block walk to one of the most scenic views in Aspen, The Gondola ride! Aspen’s Silver Queen Gondola is the longest single-stage gondola in the world. For summertime visitors, The Gondola is the gateway to enjoy Aspen’s most stunning views, as well as an opportunity to experience some of Aspen’s best restaurants, concerts, yoga, and more.
From Lift One just head east along East Dean Street. The Gondola starts in downtown Aspen and takes users on a scenic journey to the top of Aspen Mountain, which at its peak is an impressive 11,212 feet. During the 20-minute trip, riders are treated to spectacular 360 views of the Elk Mountains and White River National Forest.
At the top of the lift, visitors are greeted by Sundeck restaurant, which offers delectable international fare including Mediterranean and Asian plates and is most known for its made-to-order stir fry.
Food is not the only thing on the menu at Sundeck – visitors can also enjoy an open-air yoga class and meditation classes on the deck Monday through Friday. Furthermore, music lovers can drop into one of the “Bluegrass Sunday” concerts at the Sundeck for some of Colorado’s best bluegrass musicians.
For those who want to get a brisk hike in, the Gondola takes riders to some of Colorado’s best hiking and walking trails. You can choose from easy, self-guided trails, to more strenuous hikes that can be taken with a private guide. Visitors can pick up a brochure with hiking trails at the gondola ticket office for more detailed information.
Disc Golf is another unique activity atop Aspen mountain. Rated one of the world’s highest disc golf courses, the top nine holes at this course are ideal for casual or novice golfers, while more seasoned disc golfers can add on the additional nine towards the back for a full 18 holes.
